Win two tickets to 2012 Ryder Cup matches and montly prizes

The Concession Golf Club, an award-winning Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course designed in association with Tony Jacklin in Sarasota, Fla., is excited to be partnering with Golfweek to offer golf fans a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to win two tickets to the 2012 Ryder Cup matches at Medinah Country Club in Medinah, Ill.
From now through the end of August, Golfweek.com will post a Ryder Cup-related question each month along with a corresponding video about the topic. Contestants can test their Ryder Cup knowledge, choose the correct response from a drop-down menu and be automatically entered to win the coveted grand prize. As an added bonus, players may enter once each month to increase their odds of winning.

In addition to receiving two badges to the week-long event, the grand prize winner will also enjoy an exclusive breakfast with Golfweek writers during the Ryder Cup, which will give the winner an inside look at the tournament through the eyes of the media. Additional Golfweek Trivia Challenge prizes include:

•    A round of golf with two-time major champion and four-time European Ryder Cup Captain Tony Jacklin

•    A limited-edition signed print of the original Bart Forbes oil painting, which prominently features Samuel Ryder holding the original Ryder Cup trophy at Gleneagles in Scotland

•     3 Day 2 night Stay and Play package including fine dining at the award-winning Concession Bistro
The Concession Golf Club was conceived in commemoration of the 1969 Ryder Cup singles match between Nicklaus and Jacklin, where Nicklaus conceded a putt on the 18th hole to Jacklin rendering the two teams in a 17-17 tie and allowing The United States to retain the Ryder Cup having won it in 1967.

Nicklaus’ gesture, known as “the concession,” marked the beginning of a lasting friendship between the two men and inspired one of America’s great golf clubs.

“The Concession has a historical connection with the Ryder Cup matches and all of the past captains are honorary members at the club,” said Bruce Cassidy Jr., general manager of The Concession Golf Club. “Our goal is to host some of the world’s most prestigious golf tournaments and Golfweek’s passion for covering these events makes this a good partnership.”

Aldila’s RIP Phenom deadly accurate

Aldila’s latest shaft, the RIP Phenom, was in the driver of the Most Accurate Driver on the PGA Tour as of the Honda Classic. The Phenom incorporates Aldila’s Tour proven RIP Technology® with a unique composite construction to create a new and innovative shaft flex profile for maximum distance and control – the Hyperbolic Flex Zone™.  RIP Technology repositions the materials and patterns to optimize the performance characteristics of the shaft.  The Phenom’s Hyperbolic Flex Zone provides a stiff tip section for optimal launch and spin control, with a very firm butt section for an incredibly stable feel, while the center section of the shaft is softer to provide outstanding kick through impact to maximize ball speed.  Through the use of computer modeling technology and exclusive carbon fiber materials, Aldila completely turned golf shaft design and performance inside out.  RIP Technology provides a shaft design with optimum flex and torque characteristics with increased cross-sectional stability throughout the tip area for greater shot control.  Through the use of a Hyperbolic Flex Zone, the new RIP Phenom incorporates the same flex, torque and feel properties that have made the original RIP the leading shaft on the PGA Tour, with a flex profile to achieve unparalleled performance and launch characteristics for better players.
