Aldila launches Tour Blue/Green shafts engineered with Next Generation MLT™

Aldila's Next Generation Micro Laminate TechnologyOne of the most sought after graphite shafts on the Tour in 2013 is now available through leading club manufacturers and golf retail outlets. After successful testing on the Tour, Aldila is now launching its Tour Blue and Tour Green shafts and has begun shipping them through leading manufacturers and distributors worldwide.
Engineered with the latest materials and manufacturing technology, the Tour Blue/Green shafts are designed to maximize the power of your individual golf swing. The constant taper shaft profile provides exceptional feel and a smooth, controlled release. Both shafts are made with Aldila’s Next Generation Micro Laminate Technology (MLT). Combined with ultra-thin, ultra strong materials allows the construction of a shaft with outstanding performance and unparalleled consistency.
“The Tour Blue is moderate stiff tip shaft and very low torque designed for a slightly higher ball flight with low to moderate spin rate,” said John Oldenburg, Aldila’s Vice President of Engineering and Product Development. “The Tour Green is a stiff tip shaft with moderate torque designed for lower/penetrating ball flight producing a lower spin rate.”
Aldila’s Next Generation Micro Laminate Technology is the next step in the evolution of its highly successful technology that made the NV the most popular shaft in the company’s history.
“Next Generation MLT is comprised of ultra-thin layers of premium, low resin aerospace grade materials, Oldenburg said. “This design evolution eliminates inconsistent shaft performance caused by material variability. Redesigned tooling also raises the shaft balance point, making this the perfect upgrade for today’s modern club head designs.”

Aldila (www.aldila.com) offers patented shaft design technologies that consistently outperform other shafts available. This technology advantage is the reason Aldila is the most popular graphite shaft on the PGA Tour. Tour professionals recognize Aldila’s advanced performance and year after year that there are more Aldila wood and hybrid shafts in play on Tour than any other shaft manufacturer.  Whether the Micro Laminate Technology first introduced in Aldila NV, the most popular graphite ever or today’s Next Generation Micro Laminate Technology, Aldila engineers are continually pushing and advancing high performance graphite golf shaft technology well beyond any other manufacturer.

ORLANDO, Fla.  – The Reunion Resort is hosting the inaugural two-day golf tournament Oct. 21 & 22 that will re-ignite the Space Coast Pro Tour (SCPT) in Central Florida. The winner is guaranteed a $5,000 first-place check (Men’s Open Division) and the top 30 percent of the field will receive a portion of the purse.
The Space Coast Pro Tour, presented by Edwin Watts Golf, has more than 35 two-day events scheduled at premier resorts and championship layouts in the greater Orlando area. In addition to the prize money awarded at each event, there will also be a Skins Game along with hole-in-one cash prizes exceeding $10,000.
“We firmly believe the many aspiring players need and want a developmental tour which not only gives them the opportunity to compete in a highly professional manner and atmosphere but also the ability to achieve financial success while they pursue their dream of playing on the Web.com, Symetra, PGA, LPGA or Champions Tours,” said Jeffrey Bernstein and Brian Schindler, the two SCPT owners.
The original Space Coast Tour was played throughout Central Florida in the ‘70s and ‘80s. Notable alumni such as PGA and Champions Tour players Kenny Perry, Mark O’Meara, Paul Azinger and Mark Calcavecchia made their initial mark on the SCPT.
In addition to the Men’s Open Division, the SCPT will have a 47+ Senior Division and a 60+ Legends Division. Male or female amateurs with a USGA index of 3.0 or lower are eligible to play. Each tournament will have an entry fee of $420, but there is No Membership Fee to play on the SCPT.

A unique feature of the SCPT is the inclusion of a Women’s Division.  Any female professional golfer, regardless of age, who does not have full exempt playing status on the LPGA Tour, may participate in the regular SCPT tournaments.
“We are excited to be offering a Women's Division on the (Space Coast Pro) Tour,” said Bernstein. “There are not many opportunities for top female golfers to compete on such a high level and we are delighted to provide more women a pathway to success.”
The SCPT is being structured to become one of the finest mini tours in the country.
“Competing on mini tours can be financially challenging for a LPGA or PGA Tour hopeful,” Bernstein said. “Our number one goal is to serve the players. The Space Coast Pro Tour will be providing players beneficial discounts at host courses as well as sponsor discounts including food and lodging.”
The SCPT has aligned itself with the Mike Bender Academy of Golf for player practice and instructional needs and will also be hosting a Pro-Am in 2014 to benefit the Folds of Honor Foundation.

Using Aldila’s new Tour Blue shaft in his 3 Wood and hybrid club, the winner of the Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide Insurance notched his second victory of the season and sixth of his PGA career. With the victory he jumped to 4th in the Official World Golf Ranking and 2nd in the FedEx Cup standings.

“The Aldila Tour Blue is moderate stiff tip shaft and very low torque designed for a slightly higher ball flight with low to moderate spin rate,” said Stewart Bahl, Aldila’s Marketing Manager. “The Tour Green is a stiff tip shaft with moderate torque designed for lower/penetrating ball flight producing a lower spin rate. The shaft profiles have a constant taper to provide exceptional feel and a smooth, controlled release. Tour Blue and Tour Green shafts are made with the latest generation of Aldila’s Micro Laminate materials (MLT). The ultra thin, ultra strong material allows for the construction of a shaft with outstanding performance and unparalleled consistency.”

The Tour Blue shaft was also instrumental for the Most Accurate Driver on the PGA and Web.com Tours. Both players play Aldila’s Tour Blue shaft in their drivers. At the Memorial Tournament, the Most Accurate Driver finished first in driving accuracy percentage with an astounding 96.43 percent compared to the Field’s average of 69.54 percent. On the Web.com Tour, the Most Accurate Driver is enjoying an overall season driving accuracy percentage of 79.63 compared to the Tour’s average of 63.46 percent.

BMW Charity Pro-Am champ claims first Web.com Tour win using Aldila’s RIP Phenom NL

Using Aldila’s RIP Phenom NL shaft in his driver and VooDoo shaft in his 3 wood and hybrid clubs, the winner of the BMW Charity Pro-Am notched his first Web.com Tour victory. With his 5-stroke victory he picked up a check for $117,000 and moved from 133rd to 9th on the 2013 Money List.
The Phenom’s Hyperbolic Flex Technology provides a stiff tip section for optimal launch and spin control, with a very firm butt section for an incredibly stable feel, while the center section of the shaft is softer to provide outstanding kick through impact to maximize ball speed.
“The RIP Phenom incorporates the same flex, torque and feel properties that have made the original RIP the leading shaft on the PGA Tour, with a flex profile to achieve unparalleled performance and launch characteristics for better players,” said Stewart Bahl, Aldila’s Marketing Manager. “The Phenom NL wood shaft has a stiffer tip for lower launch with less spin. The unique design of the Phenom NL offers a stiff tip while still maintaining the feel that has made the Phenom one of the hottest shafts in golf.”
Led by its new Tour Green and Tour Blue shafts, Aldila won the wood and hybrid shaft manufacturer counts at the HP Byron Nelson Classic on the PGA Tour. Aldila had 18 more wood shafts and more than double the amount of hybrid shafts in play than the next leading shaft manufacturer, according to the Darrell Survey. The double count win marked the 10th consecutive week that Aldila has won both counts on the PGA Tour including the Masters. Aldila had a total of 32 Tour Blue and Tour Green shafts in play on PGA Tour this week.
