Aldila’s Tour Blue shaft helps drive Memorial Tournament champ to 6th PGA Tour victory

Using Aldila’s new Tour Blue shaft in his 3 Wood and hybrid club, the winner of the Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide Insurance notched his second victory of the season and sixth of his PGA career. With the victory he jumped to 4th in the Official World Golf Ranking and 2nd in the FedEx Cup standings.

“The Aldila Tour Blue is moderate stiff tip shaft and very low torque designed for a slightly higher ball flight with low to moderate spin rate,” said Stewart Bahl, Aldila’s Marketing Manager. “The Tour Green is a stiff tip shaft with moderate torque designed for lower/penetrating ball flight producing a lower spin rate. The shaft profiles have a constant taper to provide exceptional feel and a smooth, controlled release. Tour Blue and Tour Green shafts are made with the latest generation of Aldila’s Micro Laminate materials (MLT). The ultra thin, ultra strong material allows for the construction of a shaft with outstanding performance and unparalleled consistency.”

The Tour Blue shaft was also instrumental for the Most Accurate Driver on the PGA and Web.com Tours. Both players play Aldila’s Tour Blue shaft in their drivers. At the Memorial Tournament, the Most Accurate Driver finished first in driving accuracy percentage with an astounding 96.43 percent compared to the Field’s average of 69.54 percent. On the Web.com Tour, the Most Accurate Driver is enjoying an overall season driving accuracy percentage of 79.63 compared to the Tour’s average of 63.46 percent.

“The Hottest Shafts In Golf” also won the wood and hybrid shaft manufacturer counts at the Memorial Tournament. With 29 Tour Blue and Tour Green shafts in play, Aldila had 3 more wood shafts and 10 more hybrid shafts in play than the next leading shaft manufacturer, according to the Darrell Survey. The double count win marks the 12th consecutive week that Aldila has won both shaft counts on the PGA Tour including the Masters.
