RIP Technology repositions the materials and patterns to optimize the performance characteristics of the shaft. The Phenom’s Hyperbolic Flex Zone provides a stiff tip section for optimal launch and spin control, with a very firm butt section for an incredibly stable feel. The center section of the shaft is softer to provide outstanding kick through impact to maximize ball speed.
The RIP’d NV incorporates the best performance attributes from two of Aldila’s most innovative shaft designs -- the ‘perfect feel’ and slim, stable shaft profile of the Aldila NV® and the unprecedented control and accuracy of the Aldila RIP®. The Alpha is a tip-stiff, low-to-mid launch with low spin and is the original shaft with lower torque, increased tip stability and better tip stiffness. The Beta version has a slightly softer tip flex for mid launch, the Gamma has the same launch characteristics as the original Alpha with a higher balance point for use with heavier heads to achieve a conventional swing weight.
